Why should I use Traffic Film Removers?

    • Traffic film remover (TFR) is a specialised cleaning product that is designed to effectively remove grime, dirt, and other contaminants that build up on vehicles over time. TFR's are typically used in professional car washing environments, such as at car detailing shops or fleet washing companies, but can also be used by individuals at home.

TFR's can be beneficial to use because they can effectively remove tough dirt and grime that regular shampoo and water may not be able to remove, leaving a vehicle looking cleaner and shinier. Additionally, TFR's can help to prolong the life of a vehicle's paint and protect it from rust and corrosion.

Are Traffic Film Removers safe on paintwork?

    • Traffic film remover (TFR) is generally considered safe for use on paintwork, as long as it is used in accordance with our instructions. Our TFR's are specifically formulated to effectively remove dirt and grime from vehicle surfaces, including paintwork, without causing damage. Always read and follow the instructions when using ourTFR and to test the product on a small, inconspicuous area of the vehicle first before using it on the entire vehicle. Additionally, it's important to rinse the vehicle thoroughly after using TFR.

    Caustic VS Non-Caustic TFR

    • Caustic based Traffic Film Remover is designed for heavy duty cleaning/degreasing, MOT pre washing and plant cleaning. It is used by companies and individuals that cover a lot of road miles and are looking for something to remove thick dirt and grime, quickly and effectively. Please note that our Caustic TFR will remove wax from the paintwork of your vehicle, but will not damage or dull the paintwork like some other TFR's on the market.

Caustic TFR is perfect if you are looking for a quick and easy way to clean your vehicle, and you don't mind if it strips wax or any sealants applied. Some users of our Caustic based TFR will apply a layer of wax after they have cleaned the vehicle for extra protection and some just wash and go. Which works for some companies that clean them regularly.

Non Caustic Based Traffic Film Remover is designed to do the same as a caustic based TFR, but it's safer to use on protected paintwork and will not strip wax. Non Caustic TFR's are still strong products with a high pH, but do not have quite the same cleaning strength as a Caustic TFR. But they're perfectly fine to use on heavily soiled vehicles.

They can also be used for daily washing if required, it will not damage paintwork and all of ours also contain a rinse aid to leave a perfect streak free shine every time. If you have a vehicle with lots of aluminum such as a tanker vehicle you would want to use a Non Caustic TFR. As the Caustic TFR is not recommended to be used on vehicles with lots of exposed aluminum.

What else can TFR be used for?

    • Traffic Film Remover (TFR) is a type of cleaning solution that is commonly used to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants from a variety of surfaces, including vehicles, roads, and industrial equipment.

Some of the most common uses of TFR include:

      • Automotive cleaning: TFR is widely used to clean cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles. It is designed to remove road grime, oil, grease, and other contaminants that can accumulate on a vehicle's exterior over time.
      • Industrial cleaning: TFR is used to clean a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery, including heavy-duty vehicles, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery.
      • Road cleaning: TFR is used to clean roads, highways, and other surfaces to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants that can reduce visibility and cause safety hazards.
      • Pressure washing: TFR is used in pressure washing applications to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants from a variety of surfaces, including pathways, driveways, and building exteriors.
      • Agricultural cleaning: TFR is used to clean a variety of agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, and other farm machinery.

It's important to note that appropriate safety precautions should be taken when using the product. In addition, some of our TFR's contain caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), which is a highly alkaline substance that can be harmful to the skin, eyes, and respiratory system, and that may cause damage to surfaces if used improperly. Non-caustic TFRs are also available that use alternative cleaning agents that are less harsh and less likely to cause damage to surfaces.

Is it safe to use Traffic Film Remover on windows?

    • Traffic Film Remover is not recommended for use on windows, as it may leave streaks or residue. It is best to use a separate glass cleaner specifically formulated for cleaning windows.
